The standard of design and planting at the 2011 Holker Garden Festival was exceptionally high and this was reflected in the number of gold and Large gold awards.
Newcomers to the horticultural show arena wowed audiences with designs and swept the floor with awards.
A general tendency this year to naturalistic, soft planting was evident.
