We think that plant breeders really have created a little marvel with this one and have just planted three of them in the Gardening for Health gardens.
Designed for the smaller garden, this diminutive paniculata variety Hydrangea only grows about 1m tall and 1m wide. Perfect for those who love this plant but do not want the hassle of caring for large shrubs.
In late summer and autumn Hydrangea Bobo is covered in a mass of pure white blooms all over the plant. It is still as hardy as its larger counterparts and it does not mind whether your soil is acidic or alkali.
The blooms start pale green, turn to pure white and become tinged with pink towards the end of the season as the foliage turn vibrant autumn shades.
Its compact size makes it perfect for smaller gardens, fronts of borders or large patio containers as well as cutting for floral arrangements.
Best situated in full sun or partial shade.
Hydrangea Paniculata Bobo has been awarded the RHS Plants for Pollinators award, so it makes a wonderful choice for the late summer and autumn wildlife garden.
Hydrangea Paniculata Bobo is available from Thompson and Morgan.
