NHS England now support Social prescribing. A referral system through which GPs help patients engage with community based activities as a means of improving their health.
According to their data, they say “Growing evidence shows that referrals to community services such as exercise or art classes, history groups and even ballroom dancing can boost health and well being more than medication. “
Maureen Flett, Clinical Director of The Sport and Performing Arts Injury Clinic, is a qualified Sports Therapist and human biomechanics practitioner. She continues to operate a highly successful clinic in north Cumbria.
